St. Pius X School, established in 1954, is a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade Catholic school serving over 600 students from throughout New York State’s capital region. Our school is located in a quiet, upscale suburban setting just outside of Albany in the hamlet of Loudonville.
Our faculty, staff and administration are committed to fulfilling our mission of providing our students with a safe and caring environment that offers excellent academic programs within the framework of Catholic Christian values. That commitment, combined with outstanding school facilities, inspired the chairperson of our original Middle States Association evaluation team to write, “…St. Pius X School is one of the finest Catholic elementary schools that this evaluator has had the privilege to visit in over twenty-five years of MSA involvement. The St. Pius faith community provides a loving and caring atmosphere for its students and for the parish as a whole, which brings reality to the school’s guiding motto, “Children Learn What They Live.”
By working closely with our parents, St. Pius X School strives to meet the challenge set forth by Pope John Paul II, who calls us “… to empower our students to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, to draw them to responsible participation in the life and mission of the faith community, and to foster their personal and spiritual growth.” Our staff works closely with our children and their parents within a Christ centered environment as we nurture the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of those in our care.

Our Mission
St. Pius X School, guided by the mission of Jesus, is a place where students witness, share and grow in the faith community. While offering excellent academic programs, the school provides for the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of each individual within the framework of Catholic Christian values to witness God’s unconditional love and bring Christ’s healing presence to our world.

It is our common goal, through the celebration of God’s gifts, to aid in the development of a faith-filled community that lives out its faith in word and deed.
